Better water from every tap

City water in our area is treated and safe to drink, but it can still taste of chlorine, leave scale on fixtures and carry sediment from old mains – and homes on private wells have their own mix of iron, sulfur and hardness. The right treatment system makes your water taste better, protects your water heater and fixtures and cuts down on bottled water. We install and service water treatment systems for homes and businesses in Bessemer, McCalla, Hueytown, Hoover and the surrounding area.

Whole-house filtration

A whole-house (point-of-entry) filter treats all the water coming into the home. Sediment filters catch sand and rust, and carbon filters reduce chlorine, odors and many chemicals – for better-tasting water at every faucet and shower and less wear on appliances. We size the filter for your flow rate, install bypass valves for easy cartridge changes and show you how to maintain it.

Water softeners and hard water treatment

Hard water carries dissolved calcium and magnesium that build up as scale in water heaters, on shower doors and in faucets, and make soap less effective. Wells in the area can be quite hard; city water varies by utility. A water softener removes the hardness minerals; a conditioner reduces scale without salt. We test your water and recommend what actually fits it – no system you do not need.

Reverse osmosis drinking water

A reverse osmosis (RO) system under the kitchen sink pushes water through a fine membrane and several filters, removing most dissolved solids along with many contaminants. You get clean, great-tasting water for drinking, coffee and cooking from a dedicated faucet – and it can feed the refrigerator ice maker too. We install new RO systems, replace filters and membranes and repair leaking units.

Maintenance matters

Any filter that is not changed stops working – and can even become a place where bacteria grow. We set you up with a simple filter schedule and can change cartridges, sanitize systems and service softeners during a maintenance visit.

Water treatment questions

Do I need a water softener?
If you see white scale on faucets and shower glass, spots on dishes or your water heater rumbles, your water is probably hard. We can test it and tell you.
How often do RO filters need changing?
Pre-filters usually every 6–12 months and the membrane every 2–4 years, depending on your water and use.
Will a whole-house filter lower my water pressure?
A properly sized filter has very little effect on pressure. Clogged cartridges do – change them on schedule.
